Stylish homes built for warmth and comfort. Read first hand what some of our clients have to say about their Fraemohs home.
“The Christchurch earthquakes claimed our last community hall and many of the homes in our town, so earthquake resistance and durability were two of the main reasons we chose Fraemohs Homes. Fraemohs solid timber structures can’t be shaken apart in an earthquake because of the interlocking timber system and if there is another earthquake, we also know we won’t have to deal with cracked plasterboard or other issues associated with common building materials. Importantly though we wanted to use timber because it’s environmentally friendly – you can keep planting trees and building homes from them forever really – and because it’s an ‘honest’ product, with the building’s structure in full view at all times (unlike most building materials which try to hide everything behind the walls). We’re thrilled with our new hall – it has a really good feel about it, it’s comfortable and just feels nice to be inside which everyone comments on.”
“We arrived at the Fraemohs show home at Kainga searching for a style to our liking that was both affordable and ecologically sustainable after our first set of consented plans proved beyond our budget.
Carl Watson’s thoughtful responses to our many queries and Carl’s explanation for the steps in the building process with Fraemohs gave us the confidence that in building with Fraemohs and their team we would be in safe hands.
Carl expertly guided us with assurance through the early crucial stages of decision making – visiting the site, recommending suppliers, where to add value, where to cut back. At all points in the design and planning stages Carl responded quickly to any suggestions of changes or concerns.
When the process was finally through all the consenting hoops and the job handed over to project managers Carl still kept in touch – signalling he was still interested in our wellbeing and the importance of a successful outcome to our build.
We’re delighted with our new light-filled warm home – that has the suggestion of a Scandinavian design we love. All the trade workers on the house kept saying – great house we like it and now our visitors are likewise saying ‘wow’ this is great – love it. Thank you Carl and the Fraemohs team.”
“The design for our home Fraemohs produced was just what we wanted but couldn’t imagine. We only gave them a very basic outline of our ideas but even so, they nailed it and the design barely changed from their original concept.
During the build their team were easy to contact, professional but really easy to talk to and have a joke with (you always need a laugh when building a home!).
The timber is incredibly warm and our house is so dry inside so the power bill for a big house is ridiculously cheap. The white wash finish which gives a contemporary look to the natural grains was a big part of why we chose Fraemohs.
Our house is warm, healthy and dry. We’d highly recommend Fraemohs Homes to anyone looking for a house which is exactly what you need but with a real point of difference from the natural timber.”
“I heard about Fraemohs through colleagues of mine who’d said how easy the whole building process was with them. I really liked the Timbermode style homes and was able to choose the plan I preferred, then easily put my own touch on the design to make it my own. Having specialists on hand at Fraemohs to call on – like a colour consultant – made it really easy to get the exact look I was after; I didn’t have to go and find anyone like this myself which saved me a lot of time and hassle and made the process more cost effective too. There was never any stress, I just felt relaxed throughout the whole process, and now I’m moving in!”
“We lived in our Fraemohs for 5 years and would buy another in a heartbeat. The house was built 15 years before we moved in to it in 2006, and we initially had some reservations because it had no garage. But the feeling we got when we went inside just changed everything – it felt like a home, and not just a house. Until you’ve actually spent time in a timber home like ours, it’s hard to understand that feeling. One of the most memorable things about our house was the temperature – it was so warm in the winter, but also so cool and fresh in the summer. At 120 square metres it was only a moderate sized house, but felt so much larger and spacious than it was on account of its design.”
“We chose Fraemohs because their home designs are terrific. We were building just after the earthquake so everyone was feeling a lot of pressure, but Fraemohs were calm throughout and just handled everything so professionally.
They listened to our ideas and delivered. Our house is warm and well built with beautiful wooden features. We’re absolutely delighted with our home!”
“We didn’t know what we wanted to begin; we had a bare section but no idea of what to build. We decided on a Timbermode home from Fraemohs Homes which they customised for us to suit and we got exactly what we wanted.
As well as a great home we wanted the peace of mind that our building company would look after us without any of the horror stories you hear about some of the other building companies. Everyone from their Sales staff right through to the Project Manager and Builder were superb from start to finish.”
“We built our own two bedroom Fraemohs cottage some seventeen years ago and have never regretted it. At aged sixty-two the construction took four months and proved reasonably straight forward. Our home is easily maintained, warm and resisted the recent earthquakes without damage. We would recommend Fraemohs to any prospective homeowner.”
